Accessing Skillport

There are two portals to the Skillport system that are used to access the required training.

The first portal is for anyone with an active Penn State Access Account (WebAccess), which typically includes all full-time University employees, students, and part-time staff who have a valid Penn State access account.  They can log into Skillport using their Penn State access account (WebAccess) credentials using the following link. (Please note that Friends of Penn State Accounts will not work at this site. If someone doesn't have an active Penn State Access Account, they should use the volunteer portal, listed below.)

Anyone who does not have an active Penn State Access Account should use the Volunteer Portal to access the Compliance training. This includes volunteers, part-time employees who do not have an Active Penn State Access Account, and a few others.

Please note: Users will need Adobe Flash player and to allow pop-up windows. Users should use a modern web browser, such as Internet Exploer (version 10 or newer), Firefox (version 21 or newer), Chrome (version 29 or newer), or Safari (6 or newer). (Using an older browser will require that the user have Java installed and enabled for the browser.) During the login process, there are some step-by-step instructions that users can follow to ensure that Java, Adobe Flash, and pop-ups are enabled on their machine and with their browser. PLEASE SEE OUR TROUBLESHOOTING page for more assistance in this.

We have had MAC users who have additional problems launching the training and we have created a document titled Configuring MAC for Skillport (see Knowledge Base Article on Configuring Mac for Skillport)

Upon entering both ports, the link to launch the training will appear in the middle of the screen.  It can also be found by clicking on the Quick Links Menu in the Navigation Panel.

There are two requirements to each training:

• The Course Content (the course itself)
• The Post-test – The participant must score an 80% or higher

When launching each item above it will open in a new browser window, leaving the main page in the background.  Upon completing each test the user should use the Exit button at the top right hand corner of the screen of the program rather than using the X button to close the browser window.

By choosing the Exit button, the system recognizes that the participant has indeed completed the requirement.  Once all the requirements above have been met, the participant can access and print their certificate (seeKnowledge Base Article on Skillport: Print your Certificate of Completion)
